During the Covid-19 era, in 2020 and 2021, the Amazon marketplace grew immensely in both popularity and revenue. With physical stores shut down, both sellers and customers turned towards online shopping to fulfill their needs. The Amazon marketplace has almost everything you could dream of buying, this is because Amazon has a large number of sellers, and their customer service is also exceptional.

Amazon FBA or Fulfillment By Amazon:

Amazon fba is a dream for sellers especially any new and growing business, it is a service called Fulfillment by Amazon that reduces your stress by reducing your operational tasks. The Amazon FBA service helps sellers by keeping their products in the warehouse and taking responsibility for choosing and shipping them to the customer itself. Thus, product shipping to Amazon FBA not only saves time for sellers but also takes a huge weight off their shoulders by storing and shipping their products to the sellers. Since most new businesses and small sellers do not have their warehouse, this is a great option for storing their products.

However, Amazon is a large shopping hub with at least thousands of products stored in its warehouses at a time. Most of the time different sellers sell the same products, and if they are stored at the same time in the same warehouse they can get mixed up. That is the reason Amazon has introduced its FBA labels. Among different FBA labels, the most commonly used among FBA sellers is the FNSKU label. These codes are different for each seller and prevent product mixup.

FNSKU Label:

The FNSKU (Fulfillment Network Stock Keeping Unit) is a one-of-a-kind code supplied by Amazon to its sellers. Since these codes are different for each seller and product, they make the shipping process a whole lot easier. Due to their unique nature and code, by using the FNSKU label, Amazon rarely mixes or messes up orders. Ideally, these are printed by sellers themselves but if you do not have a printer, you can ask Amazon to print FNSKU labels for you.

If you plan to become an Amazon FBA seller, you need to understand what Amazon wants from its sellers and provide it to them exactly how they want it. It’s a requirement by Amazon that each item shipped to its warehouse should be properly labeled with accurate information. In case the information is incorrect, incomplete or the label is missing, Amazon can find you. But don’t worry, in this article, we will provide you with all the information that will help you understand how Amazon FBA labels work and how to print them.

Requirements of FBA Label by Amazon:

Amazon labels are unique for every seller and product. For Amazon FBA, your label should have:

  • A barcode that can be scanned.
  • The FNSKU
  • Merchandise Name
  • Merchandise Condition

However, it must be made clear to sellers that these labels are just product labels and not shipping labels. These labels will go along with shipping labels that contain all the shipping information of the seller and customer. The shipping labels will go on the outer box of your product packaging, while this label will be directly on your product packaging.

How to Print FBA Label for Your Products:

Printing an FBA label for your product is simple. You need to log in to your Amazon Seller Central Account, and then:

Go to Inventory > Manage FBA inventory > Choose the product > click drop-down menu > pick ‘Action on 1 select.’ > Print item labels >Click drop-down menu >  Choose the size of the label > Print Item Label.

How to Choose Size of Your FBA Label?

FBA allows sellers to choose several different sizes of labels for their products. These sizes depend on the type and size of your product, and the availability of barcodes on the product. You have two size choices for printing labels.

  1. If your product has no barcode present on it, then you can choose any size of the FBA label depending on your product size.
  2. If your product already has a barcode then it can get tricky for Amazon to scan the product barcode. To avoid this confusion, Amazon asks sellers to use a label size that can completely cover the original barcode with the Amazon label barcode.

Summary:

Amazon FBA provides sellers a unique opportunity to grow their business by taking shipping and storing responsibility on its shoulders. Sellers only need to fulfill their side of the deal by properly using FBA labels. The FBA labels are not free and the Amazon FBA fees are $0.20 for each label.
