Not everyone knows every little piece of information regarding what goes into organic skincare products. There exist no strict definitions or guidelines that could help you on your way towards the best skincare brand. Knowing what goes into the making of the products that you apply onto your face goes a long way towards the creation of better skin.

  1. Where Do These Skincare Products Come From?

Where are these skincare products sourced or derived from? Are they taken from natural roots such as plants or animals and minerals or are they based in something that is entirely chemical in nature? One can place these products within three main categories.

  1. Occurring from within nature

These products are completely natural. This means that they have been sourced from the finest natural ingredients that Mother Earth has to offer. Rose water would thus contain the actual essence of roses; Lavender oil would contain actual Lavender and so on. None of these organic skincare products has been in cross-contamination with any synthetic chemicals.

  • Identical to nature

These skincare products, though less harmful than synthetic ones, are essentially from the same family. They have their roots in chemicals and are made to replicate natural products. Take great care when using these products as they have surely been created in a laboratory in conjunction with natural products.

  • Made in a lab

These products are made entirely in a lab and do not aim to replicate any of the organically created products we have seen earlier. A common example of an ingredient present in these products is Formaldehyde or even Artificial Fragrances.

  • What Do The Labels On Skincare Products Say?
  1. Listing of ingredients

Ingredients are often listed from the highest concentration to the lowest concentration. This means that ingredients that are listed at the bottom of the barrel do not provide much benefit. For example, if Aloe Vera is listed as a last ingredient on skincare products, it is not present within the product in a large quantity. Similarly, the ingredients listed in the beginning are present within the product in the highest quantity. Be wary of these ingredients as if a bad ingredient exists within the makeup of the product in a high quantity, it could adversely affect your skin.

  • Plant based or environment friendly

Any product that claims to be plant based is most probably made of all-natural ingredients. Look for leafy symbols or other notations that represent the environment. If a product is environment friendly it also usually means that it is completely organic as skincare products that are chemical based tend to harm the environment immediately.

  • Cruelty Free

Notice an animal sign on the product, usually a bunny rabbit, which indicates if the product is cruelty-free or not. Organic skincare products that are cruelty free work in one of two ways. Firstly, they do not involve cruelty inflicted upon animals. Secondly, this most probably means that they are free of chemicals, as they often need to be tested on animals as a double check.

The best skincare brand makes sure to adorn these skincare products with labels that perfectly represent where the ingredients have been sourced from and what products are and are not present within them.

Products that are free of any and every kind of chemical compound present to their customers a world of benefits.
