Simple Ways To Make Your Working Day More Productive

107

If you are struggling to make sure that your working days are productive, then you’re in the right place! We’re here with a few very simple tips that can transform your working day. They might only take a few minutes or a small change, but you could completely transform how productive you are. From simple to-do lists to healthy lunches and eliminating distractions, get ready to feel more productive!

Create A To-Do List

The first and most important thing you can do to make your day more productive is to create a to-do list. This can be transformative, as you have everything in one place, nothing gets forgotten and you can tick things off as you go.

We would recommend having a weekly or monthly task list for more long-term projects that need to get done, then a smaller daily to-do list to break down large tasks into smaller, more manageable chunks. At the start of the week or month, create your larger to-do list. Then, each evening you could create your list for the next day, or in the morning if you’d prefer!

How exactly you go about creating your lists will depend on your job and how you like to work, but having everything written down that you need to get done will allow you to clear your mind and focus on one task at a time, without worrying that you are going to forget something!

Eat A Healthy and Nutritious Lunch

Next up, one of the best things you can do to boost productivity throughout the day is to eat a healthy and nutritious lunch. You are likely to feel more tired throughout the day, so when you eat a delicious and nutrient dense lunch, you will be giving your body the boost it needs to focus for the rest of the day.

Aim for something that is high in protein, colourful fruit and veg and also healthy fats. It can be really hard to create healthy meals for your lunches alongside working, so we would advise having healthy ready meals delivered to your door so that you can benefit from a healthy diet without sacrificing your precious time.

You could also pack some healthy snacks like nuts, fruits and protein bars to keep you going throughout the day!

Go For A Quick Lunchtime Walk

To get some fresh air and give your mind a break, take a quick lunchtime walk. Even if this is only 5 or 10 minutes, getting away from your desk or workplace, stretching your legs and getting fresh air can do absolute wonders. You could take this time to listen to a short podcast, listen to some of your favourite music or simply completely unwind.

Give this a go one lunchtime and soon you will find it hard to believe you ever went a working day without a walk at lunchtime!

Eliminate Distractions

Last but not least, you need to try and eliminate distractions where possible. If you find that you go on your phone a lot, set it down to one side face down or put it on a desk near another co-worker so you won’t get tempted to pick it up! If people come to try and chat to you often, try organising a catch up after work instead and explain you have deadlines you are working on. If people talk a lot in the office, perhaps put your headphones in for an hour every afternoon to have time where you are just fully focused.

It can be hard to eliminate distractions completely, especially when you have a fun office or working environment, but just being honest when you need to knuckle down and get stuff done will really pay off.
